Cafés Méo began in 1928 when brothers Jules and Emile Meauxsoone opened a grocery and coffee shop on rue Saint-André in Lille, later moving headquarters to quai de l'Ouest in the Lille metropolitan area. The family roaster was an early adopter of direct coffee importation and still roasts beans, ground coffee, and capsules under its own name.
