Castello di Fonterutoli (Marchesi Mazzei)

The Mazzei family has grown grapes and bottled wine at the hamlet of Fonterutoli, just south of Castellina, since 1435, making this one of Chianti Classico's oldest continuously family-owned estates. A gravity-flow cellar dug into the hillside produces Sangiovese-based Chianti Classico, single-vineyard Gran Selezione labels such as Castello di Fonterutoli, and estate extra virgin olive oil.
