Easy Afric Designs (LUSUSU)

Founded by designer Sarah Nakisanze, Easy Afric Designs turns lubugo barkcloth from the Mutuba fig tree into handbags, accessories, and home pieces under the LUSUSU label, working from a head office on Old Entebbe Road with a sales stall at Exposure Africa on Buganda Road. Production runs through rural and semi-urban home-based workshops, keeping the UNESCO-listed bark-stripping technique, which spares the tree rather than felling it, central to the business.
