Haifukiya Nishida Fude-ten

Haifukiya Nishida is the last ningyo-fude shop still operating in Arima Onsen, a craft that once supported four or five workshops during the Taisho era. Each brush handle holds a small paper figure wound in silk thread by hand, tipped upside down to reveal itself, and the shop turns out only a dozen or so a day.
