Hyuga Goboard & Stone has manufactured clamshell Go stones and kaya wood boards for more than a century in Hyuga, the only place in Japan where hamaguri-shell goishi are still cut and polished. CEO Hirotaka Kuroki developed a diamond drill technique now used to shape the shells into the stones favored by professional Go players.
