Ikinokura Distillery

Ashibe-cho, Iki, Nagasaki, Japan

Founded in 1984 on the island credited as the birthplace of mugi (barley) shochu, Ikinokura distills the Ikinoshima and Ikikko lines using local barley and Iki's own spring water, alongside sake and a yuzu liqueur. Its shopfront in Ashibe-cho, on Iki's east coast, sits close to the barley fields and rice paddies that supply the stills.
