Ohi Chozaemon Kiln / Ohi Museum (大樽長左衛門窯)
Kanazawa, Ishikawa, Japan
The Ohi Chozaemon kiln has fired Ohi-yaki tea bowls in Kanazawa's Hashiba district since 1666, when the first Chozaemon began working clay from the village of Ohi at the invitation of the Kaga domain's tea master, and the kiln is now led by its eleventh generation. Alongside its low-fired amber and black raku-style teaware, the compound holds four named tea rooms, a garden, and the Ohi Gallery and Museum displaying historical and contemporary pieces.
