Shimadzu Satsuma Kiriko

Shimadzu Satsuma Kiriko revives the faceted, color-graded cut glass first developed for the Shimazu clan in the 1850s, a technique that had lain dormant for roughly a century before the company restored it. Operated under Shimadzu Kogyo, its artisans hand-cut each sake cup, tumbler, and vase in the gradient style unique to Satsuma kiriko.
