The Spitalkellerei has pressed grapes for Konstanz's Heilig-Geist-Spital foundation since 1225, making it one of the oldest continuously operating wine estates on Lake Constance. Its vineyards around Meersburg and the lakeside Haltnau estate supply still wines, the sparkling Spitalsekt, and fruit distillates sold from the cellar's own shop in town.
