Ssegujja Arts

Godfrey Ssegujja, a Kampala-born painter trained at Kyambogo University, stretches lubugo barkcloth over primed canvas and builds layered acrylic paintings that keep the material's beaten-bark texture visible beneath the pigment. His work threads the UNESCO-recognized Buganda craft into contemporary fine art addressing everyday Ugandan life, and he also runs free art workshops for children around the city.
