Tinamoe Teravaro ("Mama Viriamu") - Rapa hat weaver

Tinamoe Teravaro, known as Mama Viriamu, weaves the finely worked pandanus 'chapeaux de Rapa' for which her island is known, a craft she learned at the Oremu youth weaving school. The Polynesian cultural magazine Hiro'a has profiled her among Rapa Iti's makers keeping the signature hat alive.
