Zhang Xiaoquan

Zhang Xiaoquan has forged scissors in the Hangzhou tradition since 1628, and its layered steel-and-iron blade technique was inscribed as national intangible heritage in 2006. The time-honoured name now spans more than a thousand items, from tailoring shears and kitchen knives to garden tools, under one of China's oldest surviving cutlery brands.
