Ho Chi Minh City Route — Cloth, Lacquer, Chocolate and Ceramics
Ho Chi Minh City is best approached through production relationships: tailoring and fittings, lacquer and textile workshops, design editors and food makers. Traffic makes sequence essential, so each cluster should answer a different part of the making chain.
Traffic, heat, rain and branch movement make Ho Chi Minh City a poor candidate for a single walking route. The practical plan is two clusters: a District 1–central day anchored by tailoring and portable goods, then a separate Thảo Điền design excursion. Day one — District 1 and nearby central stops
Morning: Cao Minh fitting
Begin with the most information-heavy appointment. Bring reference garments and intended shoes. Allow at least an hour. Before leaving, confirm the next fitting and final correction window in writing.
Late morning: Ninh Khương
Move to textiles and embroidery. Ask process, fibre, dye or print method and care. Compare hand and machine work without treating one as automatically superior. Choose a portable object only if the production description remains specific.
Midday: Hanoia
At a confirmed central branch, examine lacquer substrate, finish and intended use. Ask the staff to pack purchases immediately. Avoid carrying unprotected lacquer through rain or placing it beside metal hardware in a crowded bag.
Afternoon: Maison Marou
Taste by cacao origin and buy late enough that the chocolate will not spend the full day in heat. If the shop offers tasting at the current branch, use it to compare rather than defaulting to a gift set.

Continue to OHQUAO and other current independent design addresses only after verifying their doors. The neighbourhood is useful for contemporary design context, but it should not become a chain of loosely related lifestyle stores.
Return with fragile purchases packed and separate from evening plans. Do not carry ceramics into a crowded market or leave them in a hot vehicle.
The final fitting day
Reserve the final morning or afternoon for Cao Minh. Wear the intended shirt and shoes. Sit, walk and move. Photograph unresolved points before the garment leaves the shop. If shipping follows, confirm the final garment, declared value, carrier and alteration remedy in writing.
Weather, traffic and carrying strategy
In the rainy season, protect cloth swatches, receipts and lacquer before stepping outside. A waterproof outer bag should not press directly against a fresh garment or delicate finish. In high heat, buy chocolate at the end of the route and travel directly to cooled storage.
