Privacy Policy

ORBIS — The World Shopping Atlas ("ORBIS", "we", "us") is an independent editorial directory of retailers, makers, markets and places. This notice explains what happens to information when you use https://worldshoppingatlas.com/ (the "Site"). ORBIS does not ask you to create an account, does not operate a checkout and does not sell goods itself.

Information you do not have to provide

There is currently no sign-up, login, newsletter form, comment box or contact form. You do not need to give ORBIS a name, email address or payment information to browse, search or read the Site.

Your Atlas choices stay in your browser

Saved stores, seen marks, verdicts and notes are stored in your browser's local storage on your device. ORBIS does not receive those personal Atlas choices. Clearing the Site's local browser data removes them from that browser.

Hosting and security logs

The Site is delivered through Cloudflare. Like other hosting and content-delivery providers, Cloudflare may process routine request information such as IP address, browser type, requested page and referring page for delivery, security and performance purposes under its own privacy practices. ORBIS does not use those logs to build an account-based visitor profile.

Google Ads conversion measurement

Every public page loads the Google tag for Google Ads advertiser ID AW-18365399625. Google may process device, browser, page, referrer and interaction data and may use cookies or similar identifiers depending on your browser, Google settings and applicable consent choices. Google controls its processing under its own policies. You can read Google's advertising-technology policy and review choices in My Ad Center. Conversion measurement is operational measurement: it does not determine which stores ORBIS includes, how entries are ranked or what the editors write.

External destinations

Official, social, reference and Amazon links leave ORBIS. The destination service applies its own privacy practices and may receive ordinary browser request information. ORBIS labels the destination role where available so you can decide whether to continue. ORBIS does not currently use an Amazon or other affiliate programme and does not earn a commission when you follow those links.

Search discovery

ORBIS publishes sitemaps and uses services such as Google Search Console and IndexNow to help search engines discover public pages. Those submissions concern public page URLs; they are separate from the personal Atlas choices stored in your browser.

Children's privacy

The Site is a general-audience editorial directory and is not directed at children. ORBIS does not knowingly ask children, or any visitor, to submit personal information through an account or form because the Site does not currently provide those features.

Your choices and rights

You can clear saved Atlas choices through your browser's site-data controls. Google and Cloudflare provide their own privacy controls for information they process. If you believe ORBIS itself holds personal information about you, the contact note below explains the present limitation.

International processing

Cloudflare and Google operate global services and may process routine technical or measurement data outside your country under their respective policies and applicable data-transfer safeguards.

Changes to this policy

We may update this notice when the Site or its services change. The date above identifies the version generated with the current ORBIS release.

The Site does not currently publish a dedicated privacy contact address. If a monitored channel is established, this page will be updated to name it.
