Since 2008, Aaran has championed emerging Iranian contemporary artists from two Tehran spaces: the Karimkhan Avenue gallery, open by appointment, and Aaran Projects on Neauphle Le Chateau Street, set inside a 1930s Armenian-designed building. Hossein Fallahi, born in Isfahan in 1938, trained under master painter Ali Sajadi from 1951 and opened this miniature-painting workshop in 1979, working in Mongol, Safavid and Qajar styles. Haj Mohammad Ali Seyed Mozaffari opened this confectionery in 1931, and the family still hand-presses pistachio gaz nougat and honey sohan brittle without artificial preservatives.
