Mori Hakataori has woven Hakata-ori since 1896, working from Umi Town on the edge of Fukuoka to produce obi and pile-woven silk goods. Its Oriaguri direct shop and factory tour sit at the main mill.
The Sakurazaka gallery Kaigeido opened to exhibit and sell the Hakata ningyo of Nakamura Shinkyō and Nakamura Hiromine, a multi-generation Hakata doll house founded 1917.
Shibata Tamaki is the 18th-generation maker of Hakata magemono in Shime Town near Fukuoka Airport, bending cedar and cypress and binding it with cherry bark, no metal. The craft became a Fukuoka Intangible Cultural Property in March 2025, with her named its holder.
Shibata Toku Shoten has shaped Hakata magemono for close to 300 years in Maide near Hakozaki Shrine, sealing scored cedar and cypress with cherry bark. Founder Shibata Tokugoroji was designated a Fukuoka City Intangible Cultural Property holder for the technique.
Hassen-gama is a Takatori-yaki kiln in the Enshū seven-kiln tea-ware lineage, with a public gallery at Koishiwara 812-1 open 9:00–17:00, closed Wednesday.
