Babybear sells baby and mothercare products that include clothing and nursery furniture as well as toys among its ranges. Its catalogue also covers feeding equipment and strollers as well as car seats and supplies for pregnancy and early childhood. This is a multi-brand retail offer, not a claim that the products are manufactured by Babybear in Sri Lanka.
Best for Baby clothing, nursery equipment and mothercare supplies
BabyBear brings together baby and mothercare products from multiple brands, covering pregnancy through the early years. Its catalogue separates feeding equipment from clothing and nursery furniture. Toys and development products form another section, so the entry functions as a broad retailer rather than a manufacturer. The current product list gives that range useful precision. Nuna appears through the TRVL lx BMW Collection, while Joie is represented by the Litetrax 3 two-in-one stroller. CYBEX listings include the Gold Solution G2 Comfort car seat and the Solution B i-Fix booster seat for children aged three to twelve. Feeding and comfort products include Tommee Tippee bottles and soothers, with bowls also represented. Avent supplies cups and soothers. The catalogue carries both Rascals and Huggies nappies. Mustela skincare appears alongside products by Kidilo and Burbay. BabyBear identifies its flagship at 50 Flower Rd, Colombo 07. That address anchors the multi-brand offer in Colombo while the named products explain its practical breadth. Car seats and strollers cover transport needs. Feeding items sit beside clothing and nursery furniture, addressing several stages of early-childhood care without implying that BabyBear produces the goods. Its value lies in assembling recognised specialist labels within one mothercare catalogue.

Buddhi Batiks began in Sri Lanka in 1971 when Buddhi and Ranasiri Keerthisena started making batik together. Their early work grew from a shirt into a workshop and shop, with wall art and flags also appearing in the brand's history. A 2023 retrospective account describes their daughter Darshi continuing that work as creative director and chief executive.
Best for Sri Lankan batik with a family workshop history
Buddhi Batiks began almost by accident in 1971: Ranasiri Keerthisena wanted to surprise her journalist husband Buddhi with a batik shirt for his birthday, but the artist she approached fell through. Buddhi, an artist himself, suggested they make it together — and that single shirt became the genesis of the business, first run from a workshop behind their home with a shop out front.
Early tourist success led to invitations to exhibit in Europe, particularly Scandinavia and Germany, with the proceeds funding the business's expansion. Over a career spanning more than 40 years, Buddhi Keerthisena became one of the artisans credited with shaping the modern standard of Sri Lankan batik, helping establish it as part of the country's cultural identity.
His daughter Darshi Keerthisena, who holds a B.A. Hons in Fashion and Textile Design from Birmingham City University, took over the family business in 2005 and has continued developing its hand-drawn batik shirts, dresses, sarongs and accessories in contemporary designs. The brand maintains a public presence primarily through its Facebook page rather than a dedicated e-commerce site.

Good Market's Colombo events bring food producers together with other participating businesses selling clothing and household goods. The organiser lists the nuga tree car park at Colombo Racecourse for its regular event. It is a marketplace of separate vendors, so product origin and ingredients should be checked with the individual seller rather than inferred from the venue.
Best for Producer-led food shopping and goods from participating enterprises
Good Market in Colombo brings participating producers and small businesses together around food and other goods for everyday use. Organic produce and prepared food share the marketplace with vendors offering clothing and household products. The organiser identifies the nuga tree car park at Colombo Racecourse as the location for its regular Colombo event.
The event is part of a wider Good Market network, rather than a single maker producing everything on the stalls. Approved participants include social enterprises and responsible businesses, with the marketplace providing a place to introduce products and meet customers. The organiser also describes the event as a starting point for small enterprises that later develop other outlets or distribution.
Each producer and product needs its own evidence when origin or ingredients matter to the purchase. A market-wide description cannot establish where every garment was made or the composition of every prepared food. Before visiting, check the organiser's current event information rather than using an older venue-move report as a substitute for the present event listing.
