Bazar Sábado has operated as a marketplace for Mexican folk art and contemporary craftsmanship since 1960, moving to its current site at Plaza San Jacinto #11 in San Ángel in 1965. It brings together goldsmiths, jewelers, ceramicists and textile artists under one roof.
The shop of Mexico's National Museum of Anthropology partners with more than a hundred artisan suppliers, including Wixárika beadworkers from Jalisco and alebrije painters from Tilcajete, Oaxaca, paying fair-trade value for each piece sold. Since the pandemic pushed sales online, the shop also runs the site tiendamna.org alongside its storefront inside the museum in Polanco.
