Kakaw Designs works directly with weavers, dyers, embroiderers and leatherworkers across Guatemala to make bags, clothing, home goods and jewellery from handwoven textiles. From its Antigua studio it also runs weaving and natural-dye workshops.
MARIAS makes slow-crafted leather handbags and accessories that pair full-grain leather with panels of hand-woven and embroidered huipil textile. The pieces are finished by Guatemalan artisans, and the brand keeps a flagship in the Fontabella complex in Guatemala City.
Luna Zorro pairs handwoven robes, kaftans and bags with vintage huipiles and blankets, treating textiles as both design objects and carriers of Maya craft. Founded in Antigua in 2015, the studio works with artisan partners through foot-loom weaving, hand dyeing and embroidery while extending its world into workshops and small-group journeys.
SaviaGuate is a fair-trade shop selling one-of-a-kind clothing, bags and accessories made by Mayan artisans, including reworked huipiles and hand-woven pieces. It sells online and documents the maker behind each craft.
