German porcelain is a set of court manufactories that outlived their courts, still painting by hand under the old marks. Porzellan Manufaktur Nymphenburg hand-produces porcelain at Nymphenburg Palace since 1747. Meissen Porcelain hand-paints porcelain tableware and collectible figurines. KPM Berlin (Konigliche Porzellan-Manufaktur) was founded in 1763 as the Prussian royal porcelain works. Thin porcelain held up to a window shows its age more honestly than any certificate in the box. The manufactory mark sits under the glaze and carries the value, so find it before you read the price tag.

Schwabing
Munich Schwabing gallery and antiques — a sprawling basement treasure trove of chandeliers, mirrors, frames, candlesticks, and collectible porcelain.
Best for Gallery and antiques in Schwabing since 1984
Kunst Oase is an independent antiques and art gallery located in Munich's Schwabing neighborhood at Hohenzollernstrasse, established in its current form in 1984 by owner Manfred Wambsganss. Wambsganss, originally trained as a freelance artist, took over the basement space to create a gallery for colleagues and has since built it into a comprehensive antiques destination spanning two levels. The street-level shop introduces visitors to paintings, candlesticks, decorative tableware, and ornamental pieces. A sprawling basement—accessible by descending past antique mirrors—holds an extensive inventory of vintage and period furnishings: more mirrors, picture frames, glassware, and collectible porcelain. Hundreds of antique lamps, chandeliers, and elaborate crystal lustres from multiple decades hang from the ceiling, creating a densely layered, visually immersive environment. The shop operates on a self-guided browsing model; Wambsganss, often seated on a corner bench, greets visitors warmly but allows customers to explore at their own pace without sales pressure. The space has become known for its abundance and the feeling of discovery.
Glockenbachviertel
Run by stylist Nora Khereddine from Munich's Glockenbachviertel, this concept store mixes vintage furniture, pottery and lifestyle objects — including pieces sourced from her travels in Morocco — with oak shelving and bowls handmade by carpenter Fritz Baumann in his Munich workshop.
Best for Minimalist design objects and locally made woodwork, curated in Munich
Nora Khereddine Objects is a concept store run by stylist and designer Nora Khereddine in Munich's Glockenbachviertel district. Rather than a conventional retail showroom, the space is arranged as a lived-in interior, mixing furniture, ceramics, vintage finds and lifestyle accessories in muted natural tones — beige, grey and broken white — so that fashion, interior objects and fragrance are presented together in one setting rather than as separate departments. Part of the stock comes from Khereddine's own travels in Morocco, brought back and worked into the store's rotating selection of vintage pieces. Alongside the sourced and vintage items, the store carries furniture made specifically for it, including simple oak shelves and bowls handmade by the carpenter and artist Fritz Baumann in his own Munich workshop — one of the shop's few directly commissioned, locally produced product lines rather than curated finds. The store has also hosted pop-up presentations from other independent brands, such as the jewelry label Lutz Morris, reflecting a curatorial approach that treats the shop as an ongoing changing exhibition of objects as much as a fixed retail inventory.
