UAE furniture and home-decor chain founded 1996 in Abu Dhabi by Swedish entrepreneur Thomas Lundgren, staging seasonal in-store home-fashion shows; now roughly 31 stores across the Middle East.
Best for Distinctive furniture, home accessories, and eclectic design
The One Total Home Experience was founded by Swedish entrepreneur Thomas Lundgren, who opened the first store in Abu Dhabi in 1996. Lundgren has described the store concept as 'theatres' - staging seasonal home-fashion shows within the stores rather than presenting furniture as static stock. The chain's furniture and accessories draw on Middle Eastern and Asian design influences, sold as heavier wood pieces and statement decor rather than flat-pack basics. In 2007, Arabian Business magazine named The One among the GCC's 50 Most Admired Companies. The company has continued to expand its store formats, including a newer concept location at Dubai Hills Mall (2024). The One now operates roughly 31 stores across the Middle East.
