What Anis de Flavigny is known for

The tiny oval anise candies are still made inside the former Abbey of Saint-Pierre at Flavigny-sur-Ozerain, where the recipe dates to 1591 and the village's anise tradition reaches back to Charlemagne's era. The workshop survived the Revolution, passed through successive families, and has been run by the Troubats since 1923 — Catherine Troubat since 1990.

Best for — anise candy tins, nostalgic gifts, and stocking stuffers.
