Baba Attar House

Baba Attar House was founded in 1994 by the late Anwar Warsee on Dharamshala Road in Kannauj, making it one of the newer names in a town whose distilling houses often trace back generations further. In three decades it has built out a catalogue centered on attars and rooh (essential oil distillates), extending into floral waters, natural essential oils, and gift sets, run today as a small production operation with roughly fifteen employees at a single Kannauj unit.

What distinguishes it in a crowded field of Kannauj distillers is reach rather than age: the house now supplies more than fifty dealers across India and has positioned itself as an export name for Uttar Pradesh's attar trade, moving product well beyond the town's own perfume bazaar. Its stated aim — fragrances that carry a sense of place and character rather than interchangeable scent — sits inside the same deg-bhapka distilling tradition practiced across Kannauj, applied here at a scale a single family workshop can sustain.

For a house without the century-plus pedigree of some neighboring distilleries, Baba Attar House's growth from a single 1994 workshop into a fifty-dealer domestic network marks it as one of the more actively expanding names in Kannauj's current attar trade.
