By Marie has kept jewellery central to its selections for more than twenty-five years. Marie Gas founded it, and the house states her relationship to the work plainly: jewellery a passion, craftsmanship an obsession, the discovery of young creatives a vocation. She takes her cues from her travels and from a long interest in art, which is why the buy reads as one person's eye rather than a committee's.
That eye extends well past jewellery, and the Shiloh Heritage line shows how the selection works. Johanna Touitou founded it in 2019, having trained in Paris. It reinterprets the Texan Santiag, the cowboy boot, through refined craftsmanship and a French design sensibility.
The name means Haven of Peace in Hebrew, offered as a statement of respect for heritage and artisanal tradition.
Every pair is made by hand near Alicante, in Spain, at a family factory a century old where the work has passed down through generations. It is a fair measure of the whole shop: labels are chosen for who makes them and how, not for how they will photograph.
