Capay Hills Orchard

Brian and Gretchen Paddock farm roughly 1,400 certified-organic almond trees off County Road 22 outside Esparto, harvesting onto tarps rather than the bare ground to keep the nuts clean. They sell raw unpasteurized almonds, almond-wood-smoked almonds and stone-ground almond butter direct from a roadside stand and by mail order.
