Isabela Raposeiras, Brazil's first national barista champion, crowned in 2002, founded Coffee Lab in São Paulo and built its roasting program around obsessive iteration — the house tests dozens of roast profiles per micro-lot on a 12-kilogram-batch Diedrich roaster before settling on a final curve.

That level of profile testing has earned Coffee Lab recognition well outside Brazil: World Barista Champion Tim Wendelboe has cited it as a benchmark, a reference point from one of the sport's most decorated names.

For a roastery run by a champion barista who treats roast development as a variable to be tested dozens of times over rather than settled on instinct, Coffee Lab occupies rare territory — competition pedigree translated directly into a repeatable, tested roasting method rather than a marketing story built around a title.
