Crassna Khmer

Crassna Khmer takes its name from Aquilaria crassna, the agarwood species native to Cambodia's forests and the source of what buyers have long called simply "Cambodian" oud. The company was founded by a Cambodian family with direct expertise in agarwood, and sources its material from sustainably farmed Aquilaria crassna trees grown within the country rather than wild stock. Oil, powder, and coreless incense sticks are produced and packaged by hand, and the house states its products carry no added chemicals, artificial colors, or synthetic fragrance — a natural-agarwood claim aimed at a market where cut, wax-coated, or scent-sprayed substitutes are common. The business frames its work explicitly around preserving Cambodian agarwood tradition while providing employment within the communities that grow and process it. Cambodia's own agarwood regions — Kampong Speu, Pailin, Pursat, and Koh Kong among them — supplied much of what the trade once meant by "Cambodi" oud before wild stock collapsed under demand; Crassna Khmer's cultivated approach is one of the few current efforts trying to keep a Cambodian-grown supply of the material in circulation under the country's own name rather than folded into generic Southeast Asian oud.
