Illuseum

Illuseum began in 2005, when a group of tea enthusiasts opened a tea room on Strēlnieku iela under a different name and a stated aim of building "a new approach to human communication" around shared tea drinking. In 2010 the project relocated to Miera iela, rebranded as Illuseum, and reset itself around what its own materials call a move to "a new level of tea culture."

Independent Riga tea guides credit Illuseum with the city's largest Chinese tea menu, built around rare, seasonal selections rather than a fixed standard list, served in a room styled around what regulars describe as a surreal, slow-tempo atmosphere — low light, quiet music, private tea booths, and a summer terrace. Past the retail and tasting side, Illuseum trains restaurant and café staff on tea preparation and service and supplies tea at wholesale prices to commercial clients, functions most Riga tea rooms don't take on.

Its online shop trades under the name teahouse.lv, a separate identity from the physical Miera Street room it exists to extend — two decades after a small group of enthusiasts first opened a tea room built on the same premise it still runs on today.
