Maison Rebatchi

Maison Rebatchi is a Paris perfume house founded by Mohamed Rebatchi, a Franco-Algerian who grew up in a working-class suburb north of Paris. He had wanted a perfume house since childhood. Rather than beginning with a perfumer in the family, he approached established noses and gave each free rein to build a fragrance around one or more raw materials. The first collection of six fragrances was presented in 2019. It was composed by Karine Chevallier, Randa Hammami, Bertrand Duchaufour, Maurice Roucel and Aliénor Massenet. One of them draws on the Tassili desert in Algeria. The house describes its work as a bridge between France and the Near East. The first boutique stands at 63 rue Lauriston in the 16th arrondissement. Giroir & Roul Architects designed the space in blackened wood and white marble set off with gilded metal. Bottles and candles sit on a central Tulip table. The chandelier holds test tubes as a nod to the perfumers who created the scents. In June 2024 Vanille Riviera won the award for the best fragrance from a young independent brand under five years old at the Fragrance Foundation France awards. The house also sells through points of sale across Europe, the Gulf, Australia and the United States.
