Mora Stylos is the most documented independent pen house found there: opened in 1930 by Boris Mora, who left Odessa at eighteen to escape the Bolshevik Revolution and trained as a jeweler in Paris before turning to writing instruments, per a Galen Leather profile of Paris pen shops. Mora fought for France in the Second World War, was held prisoner in Germany for five years, and resumed selling and repairing pens in his boutique on his return, the same profile states.
Boris Mora's son Andre took over the business in 1978 and built out its specialty in antique and vintage pen expertise, including a house-brand line called Oldwin. The shop built its original reputation in central Paris, but per the Galen Leather account it now operates from Acep 77, 113 avenue du Général Leclerc in Lagny-sur-Marne, roughly 30 km east of the city.
Today the business is described as focusing on vintage and modern writing instruments, repairs, collection appraisals, and buy-back service.
