Mwani Zanzibar

Mwani Zanzibar turns seaweed grown by women farmers along Zanzibar's southeastern tidal flats -- the stretch of coast running through Jambiani, Paje, and Bwejuu where the crop has been cultivated for generations -- into facial cleansers, soaps, and body oils. The company pays its harvesters well above the standard raw-seaweed rate and ships the finished skincare directly from its own site to the US, Canada, and Europe.
