Robertet

Robertet is a Grasse house of natural raw materials and of fragrances and flavors, whose history the company dates to 1850. In 1875 Francois Chauve founded A La Confiance, a factory treating the flowers and plants of Provence. He took on his nephew Jean-Baptiste Maubert, a perfumer and distiller. Paul Robertet acquired and renamed the firm, and a model factory designed by Gustave Eiffel won a gold medal at the Universal Exhibition of 1900. The head office moved from Paris to Grasse, which the company calls the cradle of French perfumery. Maurice Maubert, son of Jean-Baptiste, took charge in 1923. He introduced colorless essences in 1935 and the Butaflors flower captures in 1950, winning the regard of Guerlain, Chanel and Patou. Jean and Paul Maubert carried the firm into fragrance compositions and food flavors and built facilities in Europe, America and Asia. The Plan-de-Grasse site followed in 1982. Philippe Maubert became chairman in 1993 with his brothers Christophe and Olivier. This fourth generation acquired PAB in Belgium in 2001 and Charabot in 2007 under an agreement anchoring the group in Grasse. A mixing plant more than 80 percent automated opened at Plan-de-Grasse in 2011. Jerome Bruhat became managing director on July 1, 2022, with Philippe Maubert as non-executive chairman. Robertet describes itself as a world leader in natural raw materials, present in more than 50 countries.
