Sakai Takayuki is the trading name of Aoki Hamono Seisakusho Co., Ltd., a blade manufacturer at 1-2-28 Zaimokucho-nishi in Sakai's historic cutlery district, the port city that has forged Japan's professional kitchen knives since the 16th century. The company was founded in 1947, and the Sakai Takayuki brand name was established by the second generation around 1965; the third generation, who took over in 2011, expanded distribution both domestically and abroad. The workshop's own site lists its craftsmen under the government-recognized 'dento kogeishi' (traditional craftsman) designation, and Sakai's city tourism board separately lists the company's Sakai Hamono Museum storefront near Myokokuji-mae Station as a public-facing outlet for its knives.

Every Sakai Takayuki blade is forged and finished by hand in the Sakai workshop rather than stamped, following the same division-of-labor system — separate specialists for forging, sharpening, and handle-fitting — that has defined Sakai cutlery for centuries. The house produces both single-bevel traditional Japanese blades (yanagiba, deba, usuba) for professional chefs and Western-style double-bevel knives, spanning carbon and stainless steel lines as well as Damascus-pattern models.

The brand marked a 77th-anniversary model referenced on its own site, consistent with the 1947 founding date, and it maintains an active virtual showroom plus Instagram, Facebook, and YouTube presences alongside its Sakai storefront. It sits alongside — not in place of — Aritsugu and Sakai Ichimonji Mitsuhide as one of several distinct, independently operated forges within Sakai's blade district.
