t-Lounge by Dilmah

t-Lounge by Dilmah is the retail-and-tasting arm of Dilmah, the Sri Lankan single-origin tea company Merrill J. Fernando built on the principle of selling Ceylon tea packed at source rather than shipped abroad in bulk for someone else to blend and box. The t-Lounge concept translates that philosophy into a physical space: wood-shelved boutiques stocked with Dilmah's full range on one side and its specialty t-Series and VSRT Reserve teas on the other, built specifically around tasting rather than quick retail transactions.

Colombo carries the concept's most complete expression, with locations at Horton Place — home to the VSRT Reserve range exclusively — and Chatham Street at One Galle Face. Visitors can book a Masterclass at the Horton Place t-Shop covering how to recognize and taste a tea's specific character, its health properties, and how to pair it with food, treating tea appreciation as a skill to be taught rather than assumed. The concept has since traveled beyond Sri Lanka to outposts in Wellington, New Zealand, and Kyoto, Japan.

For a company built on tracing tea back to its own estates, t-Lounge is where that traceability becomes something a visitor can taste and be walked through in person.
