What The Basket Shop is known for
The Basket Shop in Nantucket has made lightship baskets since 1989, using molds, cane weaving, reed and wood staves with nailed-on rims, and produces all of its own molds and basket parts in-house. The shop also offers carvings and scrimshaw using ivory and ebony, plus basket classes, repairs and restoration.
