Tower Records describes itself as Ireland's largest independent record store, with two shops in central Dublin. The flagship stands at 7 Dawson Street in Dublin 2, and the second store trades from the Eason's Building at 40 Lower O'Connell Street in Dublin 1. Each branch holds one of the two largest vinyl selections in the country, with an extensive back catalogue and limited edition colour pressings. The CD racks span many genres and include what the shop calls the only extensive range of classical music in Ireland. Film and television fill 4K, Blu-ray and DVD sections, and merchandise runs from band T-shirts to mugs. Tower Hifi inside the Dawson Street store sells turntables and amplifiers as well as CD players and speakers. Headphones and styli come from brands such as Rega, Pro-Ject, Denon, Marantz and Yamaha. Live in-store performances and signings are a regular part of the trade. Previous visitors have included Fontaines D.C., Lankum, Bjork, Macklemore, Fall Out Boy, James Vincent McMorrow, Lisa Hannigan and Shane MacGowan. The shop also takes part in Record Store Day, and staff are on hand for advice on what to buy and how to set up a home sound system.
