What West Baffin Eskimo Co-operative is known for
The West Baffin Eskimo Co-operative was established in Kinngait, Nunavut in 1959 by James Houston and Kananginak Pootoogook, and has since purchased over 100,000 artworks from local artists. Its printmaking studio, Kinngait Studios, is housed within the Kenojuak Cultural Centre, and the co-operative also operates the Dorset Fine Arts gallery in Toronto.
