Antwerp Shopping Route — Nationalestraat and the South Side
Antwerp's useful walk stays on doors the register can prove. Nationalestraat is the fashion spine. Zuid is the afternoon that is not a flagship myth. Do not add a Six name that has no street.
10:00. MoMu Shop and the Modepaleis
Begin at MoMu Shop, Nationalestraat 28 (51.2172961, 4.3995977). Official hours are Tuesday to Sunday 10:00 to 18:00, Monday closed. Buy a catalogue if you want the argument. Do not let stationery replace a garment. Walk north a few doors to Dries Van Noten — Het Modepaleis at Nationalestraat 16 (51.2181461, 4.4004044), opened in 1989 in the 1881 building. Women on the ground floor, men on the first. Official pages close Sunday. One or two objects, not a biography tour.
Do not add Copyright Bookshop. The official former door was Nationalestraat 28a, in the same ModeNatie block. It closed on 11 May 2024. ORBIS still prints Jacob Jordaensstraat. Neither line is a shop today.
11:30. Kammenstraat and Steenhouwersvest
Cross to Kammenstraat. Essentiel Antwerp titles its city door at number 56 (51.2166428, 4.4010346). House of Bones is at 57, a rock and gothic counter that does not pretend to be a Six house. Its official site confirms that door. Then Christian Wijnants at Steenhouwersvest 36 (51.2177458, 4.3988834) for knitwear, a two-minute walk west. That is enough fashion for one morning.
13:00. Verso, biscuits, not a closed concept store
Walk east to Verso at Lange Gasthuisstraat 11 (51.2157237, 4.4053723). Verso is an Antwerp multi-brand house, not local making for the names on the rack. Graanmarkt 13 is around the corner at Graanmarkt 13 (51.2161057, 4.4087054). The official e-shop page says the physical store has permanently closed. Pass the façade if you want the address. Do not plan a fitting.
If you want something that travels, Philip's Biscuits is at Korte Gasthuisstraat 39 (51.2165021, 4.4047361), handmade since 1991. Ice Pearls at number 25 is optional and weather-dependent.
Afternoon. Zuid, not another Six hunt
Take the south side as a separate chapter. Caffènation keeps its official CITY bar at Mechelsesteenweg 16 (51.2114732, 4.4073256), on the Mechelseplein axis the register already names. Drink the cup or buy beans you can brew. A 2026 house blog calls ZUID a new flagship without a street. Do not add Jan Van Beersstraat from press as if the house list had printed it.
Stadsbrouwerij De Koninck is further south at Mechelsesteenweg 291 (51.1996001, 4.4156007): tour, tasting bar and a shop that exists only at the brewery. Official tour hours Tuesday to Sunday 11:00 to 17:30, Monday closed. A crowler is for the week, not the suitcase.
If you want the other Six door that still publishes a street, continue to Ann Demeulemeester at Verlatstraat 38 (51.2097204, 4.3937126), on Leopold de Waelplaats. Official hours Monday to Saturday 10:00 to 18:30. That is Zuid, not Nationalestraat. One garment, then stop.
Separate errands, not this spine
Hopland 34 for Luddites Books & Wine (51.2166319, 4.4121435), Minderbroedersrui 30 for Normo (51.2224248, 4.4041991), Appelmansstraat 5 for Del Rey, and Schupstraat 21 for a BAUNAT appointment are separate errands. Haantjeslei 132 for Elixir d'Anvers (F.X. de Beukelaer) is a distillery street, not a fashion detour. Nachtegaalstraat 27 is a studio for Jan-Jan Van Essche, not a shop. Aalmoezenierstraat 2 is an office for Walter Van Beirendonck. Do not add designer cards without streets.
Three honest ways to cut the day
With ninety minutes, MoMu Shop and Het Modepaleis. With a morning, add Kammenstraat and Wijnants. With a full day, finish the centre, keep Zuid as its own afternoon, and put Ann, the brewery or the diamond appointment in that second chapter. The buyer's guide is the method. The walk only works when every stop still cuts here.
