Chocolaterie Robert has produced chocolate in Madagascar for over 70 years, growing cacao in the Sambirano valley and selling tablets, confectionery and baking chocolate from a shop at 16 avenue Felix Faure in Paris. The company won the Golden Bean award from the Academy of Chocolate in 2017 for its 100% dark chocolate.

Menakao makes single-origin bars from cocoa grown in the Sambirano Valley, hand-harvested and processed within Madagascar, where 'mena' means red in Malagasy. The wrappers carry tribal-portrait artwork.
