Founded in 2007 above the Lefkara valley, this estate farms over 20 grape varieties across three vineyards, blending indigenous Cypriot grapes like Maratheftiko with Syrah, Cabernet Franc, and Chardonnay. Production stays deliberately small to keep quality consistent, and the winery combines modern concrete-and-glass architecture with the stone building traditions of the Lefkara region.
Yiannis and Alexia Christoudia began making wine from their parents' vineyards near Kato Drys in 1992, teaching themselves oenology as they went. The estate now presses over 200 tons of Cypriot grapes a year into reds, whites, rosés, and dessert wines, aging a portion in oak barrels on-site.
Revecca Winery crafts Commandaria from roughly ten hectares of vineyards around Agios Mamas, working out of a restored family home that has doubled as the winery's headquarters since 2015. Visitors can book guided tastings of the current Dietisi vintage and small-batch Mikro-Partides releases, poured amid a folk museum of Commandaria-making tools.
Best for Commandaria tastings in a working family winery
Tsiakkas Winery has farmed 18 hectares outside Pelendri organically since 1995, reviving native varieties like Yiannoudin and Promara alongside an oak-aged zivania and its own take on Commandaria. What began with a newlywed couple bottling just 500 bottles of a red wine called Thyrsos has passed to a second generation now producing roughly 200,000 bottles a year.
Best for Zivania and Commandaria from a family estate
Zambartas Wineries has spent two decades in Agios Amvrosios near Limassol championing indigenous Cypriot grape varieties, including its Melusine Commandaria, grown under organic viticulture. The family operation, marking its 20th anniversary in 2026, also pours tastings and runs vineyard tours from its estate on Grigores Afxentiou street.
