Mariya has supplied handicraft materials in Sapporo since 1926, close to the Sapporo Clock Tower. Its range extends from embroidery supplies to weaving equipment, with craft books and classes also part of the business. The shop carries imported brands as well as Japanese products, so origin varies by item.
Shop-plus-workshop opened 2016; father Takuji Kawaguchi founded woodcarving wholesaler Takusho in 1986; son Naoto carves on site.
