A.G. Russell Knives

A.G. Russell Knives traces to 1964, when Arkansan A.G. Russell began selling Arkansas whetstones and his own knife designs from his farm; the operation moved into a small building in 1966, a larger one in Springdale in 1971, and finally, in 2002, into its current headquarters and warehouse just off Interstate 49 in Rogers. The retail store there still functions as the company's main distribution point, shipping the same online and catalogue orders that leave from its shelves.

The shop floor covers the breadth of American cutlery rather than one narrow niche: pocket knives, fixed blades, hunting and survival knives, kitchen knives, machetes, axes and hatchets are all sold on site, alongside a knife-sharpening service and a 24-hour order line. One detail is specific to the physical store rather than the catalogue — automatic switchblades and out-the-front knives are sold only in person, since they cannot legally be shipped, which makes the Rogers location the only place to buy that part of the range at all.

Russell himself is a recognized figure in American cutlery history, credited with popularizing the modern folding "Sodbuster" pattern and running one of the longest continuously operating knife-specific retailers in the country under his own name. The Rogers store, with regular Tuesday–Saturday hours, is the physical anchor of a business that otherwise ships nationally, and it is the one place the company's full in-person-only inventory can actually be handled and bought.
