What Café Traxlmayr is known for
Open since 1847 and run by the Traxlmayr family from 1872, this is the last surviving traditional Viennese-style coffeehouse in Linz, its interior redesigned in 1905 by architect Mauriz Balzarek. Writers Adalbert Stifter and Franz Stelzhamer were regulars here, and the house still pours coffee the old way, on a silver tray with a glass of water.
