What Champagne Deutz is known for
William Deutz and Pierre-Hubert Geldermann, immigrants from Aix-la-Chapelle, founded the house in Aÿ in 1838, and it still operates from the Rue Jeanson mansion Deutz built in 1861. It vinifies its own Premier and Grand Cru fruit — Aÿ pinot noir, Côte des Blancs chardonnay — and has belonged to the Rouzaud family of Louis Roederer since 1983.
