What Devon House is known for
George Stiebel, Jamaica's first Black millionaire, built this Kingston mansion in 1881, and its grounds now hold a bakery, an ice-cream counter, and a row of independent boutiques selling leather, embroidery, and jewelry. Scoops Unlimited still churns the house's own I Scream ice cream on site, one of the few products in Jamaica that carries the Devon House name itself.
