James Newman Jewellery

James Newman established his jewellery business in Birmingham after graduating from the city's School of Jewellery in 1998. A move to Vyse Street followed in 2001, initially providing a manufacturing workshop before a retail store opened in 2008. Engagement and wedding rings form part of the collection, alongside pieces using individually chosen gemstones. The range includes diamond solitaires as well as designs built around other stones, giving customers different starting points. Bespoke commissions offer another route when an existing piece does not match the intended design or occasion.

The workshop and studio remain in the Jewellery Quarter, and the company says its own designs are made in house. That gives a buyer a direct manufacturing connection to discuss when considering a commission. Questions about the stone and the design can be addressed together instead of treating them as unrelated choices. The useful focus is the individual piece and the work required to make it, rather than a broad promise about every gemstone's origin.
