Why it belongs in ORBIS
Florence-based restorer and woodworker — antique frames and hand-finished objects from the Oltrarno tradition.
Jane Harman studied drawing and painting at Glasgow School of Art and came to Florence on study grants. In an interview with Progetto Oltrarno she describes starting in this San Frediano workshop as an apprentice to Enrico Sarti and later taking it over. Alongside furniture restoration she makes smaller wooden pieces of her own, among them puzzles and candleholders. The same interview places the workshop on Via Lorenzo Bartolini, a short walk from the church of Cestello.
