He came home with it full — teas from family-run gardens, some tracing back generations, bought directly from the growers rather than through a trading chain.
That direct-sourcing habit became the company's structure: Jing works with single-origin, single-garden teas and describes its approach as sourcing "from source," knowing the growers personally and paying them fairly rather than buying anonymous lots by country of origin. The company holds EcoVadis Platinum certification, a third-party sustainability rating, and has been recognized with Great Taste Awards.
Jing's teas are on the list at five-star hotels and served by chefs who treat tea pairing as seriously as wine pairing, but the company's own account of itself still starts with the same image: a 16-year-old's first cup of proper loose-leaf tea, and the backpack trip across China that followed from wanting more of it.
