Kanz by Beit el Baraka

Beit Kanz brings together a restaurant, an épicerie and a design boutique in a 200-year-old Beirut building. It is the social-enterprise arm of Beit el Baraka, and the charity states that all proceeds support its work. The boutique focuses on Lebanese-made objects rather than a generic souvenir mix. Handwoven textiles sit beside ceramics and carved wood. Engraved copper appears with blown-glass objects and candles, while homeware completes the core offer. Its stated purpose is to keep craft knowledge in circulation by working with Lebanese artisans and designers. The épicerie follows the same model through food. Beit el Baraka says more than 1,200 women across 53 villages make its pantry goods using traditional methods and natural ingredients. The range includes olive oil and herbs. Spices sit beside pickles and syrups. Preserves and sweets appear with other forms of mouneh. This is both a craft shop and a food-production network, with the maker communities central to the proposition. The official project page also says the restaurant sources from Beit el Baraka farms, tying the retail shelves to the organisation's wider agricultural programme.
