Khiva Silk Workshops (Khiva Silk Carpet Workshop)

Set up inside the walled Ichan Qala as a project to revive silk-carpet weaving after the craft nearly vanished under Soviet-era collective production, the workshop hand-knots carpets and suzanis using Timurid-era patterns copied from Khiva's own carved doors and tilework. Two on-site workshops handle every stage from silk dyeing to weaving and finishing, and the operation is reachable directly by phone and email rather than through a booking intermediary.
